$6 dinner for 2

We have this once per week and I am obsessed with how good, easy and the fact that its so cheap is a bonus! Its chicken teriyaki from trader Joe's for $4.99

I put it over this rice that is $1 and you just microwave it

The jasmine is my fav! I would do the whole grain but Justin hates it so I go with the jasmine.
If I have it I'll saute a red pepper and onion and throw that in too!
I'm no Lexy Gradwohl here but I have to share this because I would love to know about anyone's easy dinner ideas, so please share if you have any!

Pregnancy Cravings

So I was wondering if I would get any cravings or how I would know if it was just a food craving or a 'pregnancy' craving but I have figured it out!

The difference between and regular craving and a pregnancy craving is when you are prego you crave the same thing EVERYDAY! Usually if I am craving a certain food, I have it then I am over it. Now, like tomato soup for example, I want it everyday for lunch!

Speaking of tomato soup, I went on like a 5 week Bender and had it for lunch like 5 days per week (hey it wasn't a wine bender so its all good!). If a friend wanted to meet for lunch I would literally call around and find a restaurant that had it, ha ha! And I found the BEST grilled cheese and tomato soup in Portland at Paragon Restaurant in the Pearl. Its made with rustic bread and 2 kinds of cheeses, it's ridiculous (and I already have plans to meet a friend for lunch here on Friday just so I can have it)This is what it kinda looks like:

Other things I am craving:
Love some hot coco with Marshmallows! Or just Marshmallows will do!

Last week I craved breakfast food (which I rarely eat) and wanted it EVERYDAY!
Are you kidding m,e with this orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream? Its amazing!
Justin loves it too and is hasn't lasted long at our house
And I have had an apple every single day since I have been prego. All fruit really has just sounded amazing and I can't get enough!

Tell me some of your pregnancy cravings and I'll try them!

Baby on Board!!!

Well I haven't been blogging because its just too hard to write about things when I can't write about the biggest thing going on in my life!

We are expecting our first baby October 2nd!!! I'm 12 weeks, and will be 13 weeks prego tomorrow and its been so hard keeping it under wraps for so long. We found out late January so you can imagine how hard it was for me (out of all people) to not tell the world but I managed!

I have been feeling the most tired and physically exhausted I have ever felt in my entire life. No Morning sickness though.... but I seriously cant believe the exhaustion. Also I am a craaaaazy moody chick sometimes and even punched Justin 1 time!!! These hormones are really doing a number on me.

Justin has been ridiculously patient with me however we have had a few fights where he forgot that I am totally irrational and always think I'm right. But regardless we are both absolutely thrilled to be expecting a baby. I know for a fact how big of a miracle conception is and I feel really blessed (and I seriously never use the word 'blessed'- I actually think its kinda ridiculous but there just is no other word to describe it at this point!)

MAY 4th we find out the gender of Baby Bors and the countdown is on for that......39 days!

Here is a little picture at 9 weeks of out little cutie pie

I am not really 'showing' yet but let me tell you my pants are TIGHT! And my chest has grown a few cups sizes that's for sure. I'll take a belly pic soon and post it.

More to come!

Happy St. Paddy's!

What a great Holiday this is! Yes I'm 1/4 Irish and have a 4 leaf clover tattoo but I am not going out and partying, I'm just gonna stay in and relax tonight.
I have been officially "called out" by my friends for lack of postings..... bitches! ha ha ha!
I really dont' feel too creative and don't feel like I have much to say but here are the things on my mind this week:

1. The bachelor finale......total proof of why when a guy chooses it never works out (the bachelorette almost always works out w/ her guy!) He chose Emily and sure she is pretty but she is SO NOT into him. I give them a few months but it has breakup written all over it! Already excited for the next bachelorette though.

2. Went and saw the Adjustment Bureau this last weekend. It was okay, but don't rush out and see it. Matt Damon seriously makes every movie better than it would be though, he's amazing!

3. So going to see Limitless w/ Bradly Cooper this weekend! I love him and this movie sounds AMAZING...

4. Sales results came out  today and I'm ranked #1 in my company in all 3 categories- net new biz, gross sales and # of accounts....not too shabby! It made me feel good and want to work harder to keep it going! Plus like managers from all over the west coast emailed me to congratulate me, which was so nice!

That's all I got for now, lots more GOOD postings coming next week ;)

Fantastic weekend out of town!

For my Birthday present Justin took me on a weekend away! We had a great and very relaxing weekend in Central Oregon. It hadn't snowed in weeks and it snowed lots for us and I loved it!

I'm so in love with this cute little town and lodge, you get your own cottage, here was ours (notice all the icicle's)
 Here is the main Lodge/Lobby
 Pond with cottages around
Mackie loved the snow- it went up to his belly to he really had to power through it!
Here is the brewery on the property (on the right), it had great food! And the Sisters Movie house is next door (the red building)and we went to see Unknown (great flick). It was so cute because this young guy came out before the movie to introduce himself as our projectionist and wanted to welcome us! It was adorable and so small town- they also served beer and food and popcorn was only $1.50 for a big bag!
I would upload more pictures but my camera was set so the pictures are the largest and each one is taking about 5 mins to upload- UGH! Anyways I highly recommend this place and I feel to relaxed and rejuvenated and loved having this 5 day weekend- it was a treat! Thanks Justin, love you!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well today I turn 32! I love my birthday and getting spoiled and all the things that come with it!
I also dont' mind turning 32, I am exactly where I want to be in my life and I have no complainants about anything!

My oh My what a difference a year makes though! Last year on my birthday I wasn't even engaged yet, and we went to dinner with my Dad! If I knew what I knew how back then I would've stop asking Justin when he was going to propose (since he ended up doing it on Feb 26th) and I would've hugged my dad a little tighter had I know this was the last bday I would spend with him! Here is a picture of us last year on my bday- we were w/ Justin and his parents too, gosh I miss my Dad so much!!!!

I took today and tomorrow off (and my boss said we can have Monday off) so I have a nice 5 day weekend! Today I am headed to Rumi Simone spa for a deep tissue massage, facial, body scrub and a pedicure! I love to be pampered and am so excited for 5 hours of treatments!!!  Then I am meeting my sister for happy hour and hopefully Justin will be able to make it too. Being a business owner is a lot of work, and it actually doesn't bother me if he has to miss things here and there because he has to work. I have so much respect for him and how hard he works and how he takes care of me. Plus he always makes time for me.....in fact he is taking the next 2 days off (yes he works Saturdays too-6 days per week!) to take me to the five pine lodge in sisters! We are going to relax, spa, eat, drink and just play in the snow. Justin use to live in sisters so he is excited to go and show me around. I am so looking forward to uninterrupted time with him too, plus our dog Mackie is coming with us- should be a nice little family weekend!

So thanks to my friend Lexy- I copied her and ordered this for myself as my bday present off of etsy, its so cute, I cant wait to get it I have the perfect spot for it on my wall!

Cheers for turning 32! I already know what I am wishing for this year!

Valentine's Brownie

I know I am no Martha Stewart but I think this turned out pretty cute!
And its the thought that counts right?!?!?!

P.S. ran our of vegetable oil....I needed 2/3 cup and only had 1/3 cup- so I added 1/3 cup of water and they still taste great! I'm sure I saved quite a few calories too! Yeah me!
