10 months

OMG this last month has been a huge month for Easton! His little body has changed so much and he started moving!
*He has 5 teeth now
*He started crawling
*He started pulling himself up
*He started to sit up, it was weird to look at the video monitor and see him sitting up in his crib!
*He started to get some major opinions about food and wants to feed himself
*He started to defy us a little and laugh/smile when we tell him 'No'
*I swear he has grown an inch or 2 and we moved him into the bigger car seat over the weekend
*He started to want to be up for the day at 5:30-6am (UGH!!!!)

It seems like he is becoming a toddler or something. He is more independent and opinionated and we love this! Since Justin and I are both independent and opinionated we love that he is, bring it on little buddy we can't wait to hear what you have to say!

He still loves animals, we saw some ducks over the weekend, he loved that. He got a new dump truck and it's his new fav toy. My house officially looks like "that house" that I never thought it would look like with toys all over the place, baby gates up etc....and I don't care and actually love it!
This was my view as I was trying to get him to sit still and take pics
 Loving his new dump truck!

 Best Friends Forever
So much more work and so much fun we are having! Loving every second with this little guy!
Two shorts months til his first Birthday and I know it's gonna fly by since we are so busy. My friend Lisa said it best, "some days are long but the years go by fast"!

This Week

This picture pretty much summarizes Easton lately, on the move! And me telling him "No" one hundred times a day!

We have had a great week here's what we've been up to:
*Sunday we hired the best babysitter ever from noon to 5 and went wine tasting with Justin's best friend and his wife. It was super fun, living 1/2 hour from wine country is a treat and I need to go more often!

*I went to hear about a friends business Tuesday night after Easton went to bed and I hung out for a few hours and drank wine with girlfriends....LOVE THAT! Need to do that more often!

*Wednesday we went to stroller strides and we toured the fire station after, although Easton is too young to get much out of it, I basically went for myself and to hang out with my friend Kat a little more!

*Yesterday I worked out with a trainer at the gym, (she kicked my butt) and we had the carpets shampooed so I had to be out of the house. It was the perfect temp for me (83 degrees) and we went to my absolute favorite park in the world and played in the grass and on the playground. There was a girl there playing guitar and singing great songs (she was really good) and it was just one of those moments where you want to freeze time because I just felt so happy and content and thankful.

*I was super tired the other morning and I was on facebook about to complain about it...then I read that a sorority sister of mine status that her cancer is back. It was a humbling moment, I will take being tired any day, I have my health. I will be thankful.

*More working out today then getting a pedi! Hoping Easton still will sit on my lap and chill and not want to get down since he loves being on the move now!

*Easton turns 10 months on Monday, OMG! Post about that coming soon!

Have a great weekend blogger friends!

Magic Mike

Do yourself a favor, grab some girlfriends and some wine and go see Magic Mike!
Camille, Erin and I went last week to the Living room theater (they serve food and booze) and drank lots of wine and watched it. It was HILARIOUS! Not just the movie but all the drunk (and horny?) women in the theater oohhh and aaahhhing. I've never laughed harder or had more fun watching a movie in a theater! GO!

A more joyful life

  1. One of my facebook friends had this posted and I LOVED it! Totally resonates with how I feel and how I chose to forgive and chose to be happy everyday! I hope you enjoy it too. I actually can think of a few people who I'd like to email it to but I don't think they would get it. Are the people you know that hold grudges, happy people? NOPE!

10 paths toward a more joyful life:

    Accept Yourself

Without self-acceptance, you will limit and block how much happiness, prosperity, love, and success you will enjoy. The miracle of self-acceptance is that if you are willing to accept that happiness already exists in you, you will begin to experience more happiness around you.

    Follow Your Joy

There is a world of difference between searchi...ng for happiness and following your joy. Following your joy is about listening to your heart’s desires, noticing what truly inspires you, and recognizing your soul’s purpose. A good starting point is to reflect on the question “When am I at my happiest?”

    Choose Happiness

Try to find the place in your mind where you have already decided how good today will be, how good this year will be, how good your life will be. Are you happy with your decision? Set a positive intention right now to let today be even more enjoyable than you thought it was going to be.

    Free Happiness

A lot of happiness is overlooked because it doesn’t cost anything. If you think money will buy you happiness, you will go shopping for the rest of your life and never be completely satisfied. To enjoy some free happiness, make a list of everything in your life that costs no money and is totally priceless - like laughter, friendship, meditation, air, kindness, and the stars at night.

    Love Someone

To be happy, all you have to do is be the most loving person you can be. People who give their best time, energy, and attention to their most important relationships experience more happiness. Stop the busyness, and think about who you would like to spend more time with, acknowledge more, and have more fun with.

    Forgive NOW

Sometimes in order to be happy now you have to be willing to give up all hopes for a better past. Living happily ever after starts with forgiveness. You can’t keep carrying a grievance and hope to be happy. Happiness is a gift you give yourself because it sets you free.

    Vocal Gratitude

Say out loud three things you are grateful for. Do this right now, before you go on reading this article. Gratitude is often referred to as the shortest shortcut to happiness. The more grateful you are, the happier you will feel.

    Beware Martyrdom

A martyr believes they have to sacrifice themselves and happiness in order to enjoy the good things in life. When you try to play the martyr, you lose and so does everyone else. Be kind to yourself. Life always gets better when you treat yourself better.

    Be Present

Living in the “not now” is a chief cause of unhappiness. In the English language, the word “present” has three distinct meanings: “here”, “now” and “a gift”. The more present you are in each moment, the more happiness you will find. Happiness is where you are.

The Honest Company

I have turned into a total hippie mom and now am using The Honest company diapers, wipes and toiletries on Easton. It grosses me out what they put in diapers and if you research it, it will shock you. Jessica Alba started this company and it's all chemical, paraben free products for baby and Mom. I love the diapers they have cute designs, (skulls, anchors, gingham and just white for boys) and the wipes are great. The bubble bath is nice, the lotion smells great and the healing balm works wonders on irritated skin. I recommend trying this stuff if you are passionate about chemical free for your baby. There scores are all super low in the Cosmetic database, love that!

Here is the website:

Cosmetic database website too; if you want to see how the products you use on your baby rate. (johnson & johnson is toxic!!!) Also I put in all my face wash, moisturizers, deodorant etc and have made some changes for myself! Our skin is our largest organ, why not protect it?

We've got a crawler!

Over the last few days Easton started (army) crawling and it so cute and fun watching him trying to figure it all out. It's gotta be for something good though, like the Dog, a stack of blocks or the entertainment system...time to baby proof!
Mackie's world is about to get rocked! Easton likes to scratch and pull his skin. But Mackie is so good and just lets him and them walks away when he's had enough, such a sweet dog!
Bad pic-with my phone but you get the idea of where he's headed.....
I feel like Easton's next word he says will be "no" because I have started saying it to him alot since he's on the move! On the plus side he's been sleeping so much because I think this is totally exhausting him out everyday=happy mama!

Happiness is......

For Chrissy

My sweet step sister got Easton this cute UofA outfit since she's an alum. I had to post pics for her to enjoy! It's the perfect outfit for this not quite warm, yet not quite cold, weird Oregon summer day!
He loves to stand at his drawer and pull out everything he can!

Over the weekend I opened the 12 months size clothes bin and I now feel like Easton has a new wardrobe, so many cute outfits to come!!!

My Momma

It's so hard having my mom live so far away! She was in Sacramento, but then my step dad's company moved to Houston! So now she is even farther, but since their Vancouver House never sold (THANK GOD) my mom is going to live here July-September, and maybe December too. So it's a total treat having her here right now.
We had lunch at her Country club and enjoyed some pool time with Easton. They have a large pool, a floating pool and 2 baby pools, its so awesome and Easton and I plan on spending more time there this summer and every year! He didn't last long but it still wore him out, he crashed in the car and took a nice long nap, love that!

One of the MANY reasons I am so glad she is spending time here! Love you momma!

Amazing Wedding!

My sweet friend Emily got married Saturday night at the Sunriver Resort in Central Oregon. I met Emily through Fay, she is part of a group of girls we call the Oregon DG girls. We have a fun group of Portland girls that consists of pi phis from WSU and DG's from Oregon and we have had many fun times in Portland and on trip over the past 10 years. I love these ladies!

So I left Easton for the first time overnight and it went great! My mom adores him and they had a ton of fun playing, going on walks and cuddling and knowing he was in the best of care made it easy for me. I did miss him though and since I spend all my time with him it did feel weird to be away but it was just over 24 hours so I was fine! And yes I did cry on the way to drop him off!

It was 90+ degrees on Saturday in Sunriver, made for a super HOT wedding! We were right in the sun during the ceremony but it wasn't too long and then we headed to the shade and inside to start celebrating. It was an unbelievably beautiful wedding and I am so glad I make the trip. Congrats to Emily and James Fellman and your amazing life together!

9 months

Oh Easton, 9 months already and you are so much fun!!!! You are on the verge of crawling but not there yet... I am so excited and so not excited at the same time for you to crawl. You are so curious and have to grab and touch everything. You now sleep on your stomach, and you are sleeping so well! From 7pm- 4:45am like clockwork, I nurse you and you go back down til 6 or 7am. You have turned mommy into a real morning person, I never thought that could happen!

You love to smile, laugh and you spend so much time in johnny jump ups and jumperoo you are the true definition of a bouncing baby boy! You are learning to share things and like to hand people (especially our dog) your toys! I'm' pretty sure you love country music as much as mommy and love to have dance parties in the kitchen!
You are so in love with your daddy, you like to imitate everything he says and does. Although you still have yet to say 'mommy' grrr!!!
You understand 'No' and sometimes it makes you sad and scared but I stick to it and you seem to be understanding some boundaries.
Stats:
18 lbs 13oz 40th percentile
 28 3/4 inches tall 70th percentile
Head circumference 90th percentile
And 100th percentile in cuteness :-)

Grabbing my camera strap while taking pictures, that is so you!

You look like such a big boy here!
You are such a sweet happy boy, you make being a parent a DREAM for us and we couldn't love you more if we tried to! XOXO

Bridal Shower

And today my other step sister had a Bridal shower at her Aunt's house. (2 showers in a weekend is tiring!) Chrissy is my step dad's daughter and she's getting married in Maui in February but she lives in Florida so it's hard for her to get back here often so that's why the shower was kinda early.

Easton thought the party was kinda a bore so he just chilled out and read his book :-)
Auntie Ryann (my sister) and E

Chrissy (on the left) and her future SIL

 There's that smile!

Such a fun weekend, a shower for both my step sisters (one from my mom's side and one from my dad's side). I love them both with all my heart and am so excited for both of them and there new adventures in life!
